It's great to be 8

My sweet Kalaya turned 8 this year!

She is really amazing!  She is a 'home- body' and I am so thankful to have her around.  She is really interested in crafts and the LDS Church right now.  She is so excited about joining and becoming a member; which is a special privilege that one must be 8 and older to do.

She has wanted to know all about it and how to look 'pleasing'.  She was fully prepared after having a few talks with her father and I about it.

She turned 8 last month and has anxiously waited for the special Saturday. 11/15/2014

It was a  beautiful day getting everyone dressed, the house ready and food prepared. We made it to the church and enjoyed seeing mostly family and a few friends.

She was a little nervous so we sent her early with daddy.  We had panties, which was more than what I had on that special day.  However, Nana Jarman came to the rescue with a towel after she 'got dunked'.

The ceremony started by "I am a child of God" song and an opening prayer.  Then there were two talks, one about baptism and the second about the Holy Ghost.  They then, shuffle the Kiddo's to and from the baptism room.

Aurora and I waited by the door and secretly watched the formal baptism prayer, said by daddy and the 'dunk' to symbolize the washing of sins.  Thankfully, Grandpa Nelson noticed that Reed missed a word in the prayer and quickly guided him to restart.  Kalaya was then quickly dunked and went 'completely' under the water.

We then went to gather in a large room to say the prayer with the Priesthood holders standing in a circle.  Reed then said the formal blessing that gives the gift of the 'Holy Spirit'.

We then went to our home and had our families follow.  We enjoyed a 'celebratory feast' there!  Pork roast, beans, chips, salad, strawberries and punch; per her request.

What a glorious day it was!  She was so excited to become a 'member ' of this growing church.  I am so thankful for her strength and determination.  She really is a wonderful daughter of God and I know that the Lord would agree!;)

I am so thankful for Reed's and My Mother's courage, when deciding to join the church in their early college years.  Because let's be honest; 'sometimes it's hard to be a Mormon when your family is not'!

I am so thankful for my sweet Kalaya bug; I will forever remember when she came into our home and her older brother couldn't keep his hands off of her! She is my bud; or as daddy likes to put it 'my future shopping companion' and a great 'future homemaker'!

We love you!  Xox

Concrete is so much Fun!

Some people get so excited about projects at home whether it's building a dresser, repainting a wall or organizing a pantry.......

However, "Concrete is so much fun"has and will never be said in our home!

(I love my husband and all of his eccentric creative ideas; however doing concrete by himself was not one of his brightest moments.)

Look at the pictures below of him 'blowing his back out'.  Jk;)

But seriously, after 6 hours of hard intense labor he came inside and feel asleep sitting up- in intense pain.  And even now, a week later he will still complain on occasion.

If you ask me why; I would reply, " It's all about saving money with him and I am so grateful he does try".

Needless to say, he has since hired a few guys to come finish the rest.

 Lesson learned... Lesson learned!

Aurora Rae

Happy 'really' late Birthday to my sweet little girl.

Roses are Red,
Violets are blue,
Sometimes I think you breathe fire,
Oh wait, I think you actually do.

I love my Aurora, she is a queen bee that always knows what she wants!

She is super helpful and loving to her younger siblings. She vacuums and does the dishes often.  Let's face it, she can get the job done.

Not many people are blessed with a daughter or sister like her, but we are grateful that we are one of the lucky few! ;)

Love you! Xoxo

Sea Life Aquarium

After the house was cleaned on Saturday we decided to head out and check out the Aquarium at Mill's mall.  It took us a little to locate it in the mall; but that is alright because I am trying to walk out a baby anyways!  ;)

It was nice having a Pogopass because we were able to go to the front of the line! The kids were so excited at the entrance because they were told to find the answers on their answer sheet to earn a prize.  So they were busy looking for the 'fin facts' in each room.

I wasn't sure if Bayden would enjoy the darkness; so for most of the beginning he hung out in the stroller - safely buckled.

I truly enjoyed the fact that the business broke up the crowds and had groups wait their turns because a stroller was obnoxious at times.

There were touching areas located throughout with different starfish,  rays and fish that you could feel.

After a while Bayd was coming alive!  He wanted to explore with us;  He was so good about staying with us.

There is a large aquarium room that the Kiddos loved.  Stairs up to a platform that looked over Sharks and stingrays; with a viewing tunnel.   It was perfect for them- they were running all around enjoying the area.   While I was using my 'sits' bones, enjoying the Aquarium and taking a break! We could have stayed in there for hours!  Perfection!  :)

This place has it all!  The end of the path features a large indoor playland! The children were in heaven, climbing up and going down the slide!  There were comfy couches for nursing mom's.   Wow this room was packed!  We stayed for a while.

Lastly,  upon exiting the children earned their medal for handing in their question card.   They were so excited to get something in the gift shop;  & I was excited that it was free!  ;)

What a fun way to begin the day with these kiddos.

Daddo really missed out on this one!  He will be there with us;  next time!  :)
