Lucy

Everyone has to lose someone or something in their lives.  Lucy was ours during our last Dunes trip.  The neighbor was taking great care of her, while we were gone.

But shortly after we left, she started getting sluggish and wasn't responding.  So little Paige ran home to get her mother, out of fear that something was wrong!  Sure enough our Sweet "Grandma Lucy" had passed. She was old, so we knew that this day was coming!

Our neighbors wrapped her up and put her in a box, in their garage. They tried not to tell us at first, because they didn't want to ruin our trip.  **Seriously the best neighbors ever**!!

She finally told me the night before we got home and I was a little heartbroken myself and didn't tell the kids!

Once we got I gathered the kiddos and told them, because her absence was really noticeable.  Reed got home an hour later- then went over to the neighbors and got her, to bury her in our pasture.  We then had a flashlight Memorial Service for her, because my sweet Reed had to leave in a few hours to Utah- but said that he needed to do this before he took off.

He came and got us when the hole was ready and he was ready to bury her.  Levi came out for a bit, then took off.  I don't think he wanted to get emotional or something (I don't know) ....  Kalaya, Aurora and I went out, since the other kids were tucked in bed.

We brought out some cards and letters that we made for her & took turns reading them aloud.

**I didn't realize how emotional that this would be.  She was apart of our family for 6-7 years, which is crazy to think about!**

Daddy put her body into the hole and we starting reading,  "We are grateful for the friendship that you were & the protection that you gave. You were a true Jarman, tough as nails!"

Kalaya started to read her's and Reed couldn't keep it together, with her sweet words.
😭
Then it was Aurora's turn, " Lucy we will miss you, you are awesome and cool!  Period, question mark, smiley face, picture!"
😂
Oh my Word, we could not stop laughing, at this well needed comic relief!

But on a serous note- This Lucy girl will be missed!  She was great at protecting us and our land!
❤️❤️
We love you girl! ❤️❤️
